Using a point and shoot camera without flash is always a gamble because you run the risk of blurry images due to camera shake. Recently I took my Olympus LT Zoom 105 to see Alex G and Nilufer Yanya play at Roadrunner in Boston. I brought along a mini flexible tripod to stabilize my camera. In the front balcony at Roadrunner there is a ledge where you can put your drinks. I set up my camera with the flash off and the shutter delay on to reduce any camera shake when the shutter button is pressed. This was taken on Kodak 400.
With only a zoom of 105mm I was too far away to get good pictures of the band, but I was able to get good shots from the crowd. Since I don't have control over the shutter speed or aperture, there isn't much I can do with a point and shoot to prevent the band from being overexposed. Overall, I'm happy with this setup and will take it with me to other shows. Next time I want to try a comparison between pics taken on my iPhone 15 Pro and my Olympus LT Zoom 105. Maybe with a little work I can get good zoomed in pics on 35mm.
